What are Miranda warnings?

Video Transcription:

We’ve all seen the TV shows and the movies when the police officer’s arresting someone, and they’re telling him, “You have the right to remain silent. Everything you say can and be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present. These are your Miranda warnings.” The important thing that you need to remember is that they apply to custodial interrogation, which means if you’re not under arrest or detained, anything you’re saying voluntarily, Miranda doesn’t apply and it can’t all be used against you.
