Should I negotiate with the insurance adjuster myself without the help of an attorney in order to settle my Florida auto accident case?

Video Transcription:

I often get approached by friends and family and they’ll ask me, “Hey, can you help me out to settle this case. I don’t want to hire a lawyer. I just wanted to negotiate with the adjuster myself and see if I can settle this case.” And I’ll tell you, “I think that’s a bad idea.” The adjuster’s counting on that because if you’re not a lawyer and if you’re not a lawyer that’s trained in handling automobile accident cases, you wave valuable rights, you may get recorded and you may end up settling for pennies on the dollar. If the adjuster attempts to negotiate you; you should stop that conversation immediately and contact a knowledgeable attorney first.
