What does ‘comparative negligence’ mean when determining who is liable for a Florida traffic accident?

Video Transcription:

Comparative negligence is basically a theory that allows your insurance companies, or in some cases a jury, to determine what percentage of fault they can attribute to each person involved in a motor vehicle accident, for example. If they say that you are 10% at-fault, they could diminish any judgment that you get by that 10%.
