What is comparative negligence?

Video Transcription:

Comparative negligence is basically a legal theory that allows the insurance company or juries to determine what percentage of fault they’re going to tribute to each party involved. For example, if the insurance company or jury determines that you’re 20% at-fault for an accident, and you get a valuation or jury award of $100 for that accident, you’re actually only going to receive $80 because of 20% that they are attributing to you is deducted.
