Is Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy Making You Miserable?

WeightLossShot

There are those who take the new weight loss drugs and are thrilled with the results, no question about it. But when Jacqueline B. started using Ozempic to control her diabetes, it took a few months for the vomiting to begin. But when it hit, it was with a vengeance: she wound up sleeping with a garbage can next to her couch each night. Her blood sugar was in good shape, but she became so weak she could only move with the help of a walker, and her teeth started disintegrating due to exposure to so much stomach acid. When she shrank to 87 pounds, her doctor took her off the drug. A year later, Jacqueline must now eat using a feeding tube and can barely walk.

Gastroparesis, internal blockages, inflammation, gall bladder damage, blot clots, ileus–even vision loss: these are all side effects that people are experiencing, and they claim they were not properly warned in advance. Some people may even be susceptible to thyroid tumors. We’re talking about thousands of people who took a semaglutide drug such as Wegovy or Ozempic under a doctor’s orders in an attempt to improve their health. Now they’re suffering significant problems.

What We Know

Semaglutide drugs belong to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 agonists. They have been linked to gastroparesis, a serious disorder that slows down the movement of food through the stomach and into the small intestine. If the food slows to the point of stopping altogether in the small intestine, which means they no longer work properly. This can lead to significant issues including:

  • Nausea;
  • Vomiting;
  • Dehydration;
  • Diarrhea;
  • Constipation
  • Bloating;
  • Abdominal pain;
  • Acid reflux;
  • Malnutrition

Those who’ve used Ozempic for a number of years may know that warnings of gastroparesis were not included in prescription information when it first came out. There is no cure for gastroparesis.

One bariatric surgeon noted that one in five patients on prescriptions like these have such horrendous side effects that they are forced to stop taking it completely. Many of those who suffer ill effects claim to be facing a lifetime of misery. That’s why, in addition to quitting the medication, many are filing lawsuits against the companies who make them, Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Plaintiffs may seek compensation to address medical costs, lost wages, the loss in quality of life and more.
